Empress Han Wen 琼剧《汉文皇后》[G]
Dou Ji, a commoner, was separated from her younger brother Dou Guan Ping and conscripted to be a palace maid. Liu Heng ascended the throne and became Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty after Empress Lu’ falls. He conferred Dou Ji as Empress and issued an edict to find Guang Ping, her younger brother who had been separated from Dou Ji for 12 years. Guang Ping was abducted and sold to the home of the illegal creditor Zhao Tong to feed horses. Zhao Tong upon learning that Guang Ping was the Empress’s younger brother, quickly betrothed his daughter to Guang Ping. Zhao Tong took advantage of Guang Ping’s royal status and committed evil. For such, he was on the run for fear of being arrested by the imperial court and fled to Chang’an and hid in Guang Ping house. Guang Ping fell into the trap of a treacherous plot due to his ignorance and naivety and stabbed to death the captain of the Royal Army after heavy drinking. Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty and Empress Dou ordered to execute Guang Ping in order to strictly enforce the national law.
